DENT Instruments based in Bend, a leader in the design and manufacture of power and energy measurement instruments, announced an In Concert partnership with building management control systems solutions provider AMX of Richardson, Texas. The strategic alliance will allow AMX to integrate DENT’s energy submetering technology into AMX’s fully networked, interactive control systems for building automation, audio-visual (AV) devices and indoor environmental quality.

DENT Instruments’ PowerScout power meters will escalate the AMX platform’s efficiency, which is already LEED points contributing, by providing accurate and timely energy consumption reporting on whole building and branch circuits.

“Intelligent building automation is realized by having all components interacting based on rules set for energy consumption, scheduled occupancy, ambient light, security, and fire alarms,” commented AMX Product Manager Doug Hall.  “Our collaboration with DENT enables building managers to automate and track resources in every room and reduce their carbon footprint.”

More and more, building managers, owners, and architects are facing requirements to construct smarter, greener facilities that promote resource efficiency and safer, healthier environments.  With the addition of DENT Instruments’ best-in-class energy measurement technology, AMX’s intelligent building management solutions let users meet these initiatives while simplifying and automating the process.

“DENT and AMX are driven to deliver building management solutions that emphasize energy efficiency and resource conservation,” stated DENT Instruments’ President & CEO Christopher Dent.  “We believe the combination of our solution with the AMX platform will deliver a more advanced level of green building efficiencies by allowing users more concise, detailed reporting of their energy usage – enabling them to distinguish systems and areas of heavy consumption and take action.”
