House Speaker Jeff Merkley’s address to the Democratic National Convention will be aired Live on C-SPAN today, Wednesday, August 27, between 4:30pm and 5pm.
Merkley plans to speak about securing America’s future by changing the priorities in Washington D.C. and putting Oregonians before the powerful special interests, according to a press release issued by his re-election campaign.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to address the Democratic Convention this week and speak about Oregon’s opportunity to change the direction of our country,” Merkley said. “We need new leaders who will listen to the voter’s call for change and end the bickering in Washington. That’s what Oregonians demand and that is exactly what my campaign is about.”
