Papé Kenworth – part of the 75-year Oregon company Papé Group – has opened a new 16,000 square foot full-service dealership on three acres fronting Highway 97 in Redmond after major customer Central Oregon Truck Company paved the way by acquiring adjoining land and steering improvements to make access work for what is now a major transportation hub (see companion stories).

Papé has built a long-standing reputation for consistent, quality customer service throughout the West with a promise to keep customers moving whether they are driving a truck or managing a fleet, and the new facility carries Kenworth’s full line of medium and heavy duty trucks.

The new location is a member of the Kenworth dealer network of more than 325 locations in the United States and Canada, and also features multiple state-of-the-art service capabilities and a highly efficient wash bay as well as an expansive parts department additionally supporting the service and parts needs of a multitude of truck lines.

Papé Kenworth General Manager Mike Pati said, “We serve capital equipment needs including the construction, forestry, agriculture, warehousing, materials handling and trucking industries with new and used heavy and medium duty trucks, as well as other associated products and service.

“Previously, we had a much smaller employee-operated presence in Redmond with two members, but from those modest beginnings we have grown to 11 members with the support of a variety of customers and the local community, and we anticipate adding more as business continues to build.

“Part of making this work in our acquisition of the site and building the new facility was the participation of Central Oregon Truck Company next door and their laying of groundwork so the necessary infrastructure could be developed.

“We also really appreciate the support of our customer base which has been key in enabling us to grow even through tough economic times. We are excited to continue to grow and offer expanded service, and are optimistic about the future.

“SunWest Builders and the rest of the team also did a great job in delivering a first-class project.”

Product Support Manager Joe Steward said, “If you have a truck being worked on we also offer amenities such as a relaxation area with TV, showers and wi-fi and laundry facilities.

“We also have top notch service bays big enough to accommodate trucks and trailers and with the flexibility to do anything to any truck on any bay, and a four-post electric lift that can literally hoist an entire truck in the air.

“We offer parts and service for any trucks, with highly qualified mechanics, and the new base has really upped the ante for what we can do both inside and out – on the exterior we also have amenities such as perimeter electrical outlets for truck heaters, and RV hook-ups.

“The highly visible frontage on Highway 97 is also boosting business and we are looking to continue to grow and serve an expanding customer base.”

Architect Chris Walker of the CIDA group said the facility located at 580 NE Hemlock included a modern sales showroom, parts desk, drivers’ lounge and three double pull-through bays as well as the capacity for exterior service work.
