Plans Appreciation Event for Customers & Nonprofit

Local entrepreneur, Rebecca Yeomans, announced that Spa W has been chosen for the tenth consecutive year as Best Day Spa in Central Oregon by a

local newspaper.

The Spa has chosen to celebrate its tenth year award with a customer appreciation event on October 10, offering 10 percent off of all products and services for 10 hours.

Cascade School of Music has been chosen as the beneficiary of a portion of proceeds from this event as it is currently celebrating it’s tenth year as an organization.

Yeomans purchased Spa W in May 2005 with a desire to utilize her education and previous work experience to create a business that reflects an ambiance that is attractive to its clientele and a culture that her staff is proud to be a part of.

Yeomans graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in hospitality administration with an emphasis on spa management. Her experiences in event/tradeshow management set the stage for her ability to manage and multi‐task through a variety of projects as well as deal with a broad spectrum of people.

This past year, Yeomans has made several strategic decisions for herself and her business. She came from behind the scenes to begin her new role as director, choosing to invest her own capital into the Spa for maintenance work, décor, a signature Spa W body care line and a new website that has proven itself to be a wise move as she has seen a measurable increase since the beginning of 2011.

As for creating a team culture amongst her staff, Yeomans invested time in working with a coach to develop an on‐going strategy as well as educating herself on team culture through experts, such as Tony Hsieh of Zappos.

Yeomans has another focus as well: to become more involved in her community through participation in donations and distribution of a portion of proceeds from special events. Recipients of Spa W’s giving program are Caldera, Friends with Flowers, Happy Girls, The Great Oregon Duck Race, Deschutes Children’s Foundation, Seven Peaks Elementary, High Lakes Elementary, Summit High School, Bend South Little League, Central Oregon Flyfisher’s Association, Central Oregon Golf Tour and The Pole Pedal Paddle.

The common thread: children, women, health and well‐being. Yeomans is passionate about participating in her community through giving as well as educating herself and her staff about the organizations that assist these causes that are important to Rebecca and her team of twenty.
