Simplify Celebrates 10 Years of Helping Find Life/Work Balance

It’s a dilemma most people face every day – how to fit work, family and a bit of personal time into the 1,441 minutes we all have in a day. Add in the pressures of doing more work with fewer resources, living in an “always plugged in” world and the exponentially growing amount of information we must process every day, it’s no wonder that many are seeking help in the area of time management and productivity resources.

Central Oregon’s Bethanne Kronick, consultant, speaker, author and CEO of SIMPLIFY! finds herself busier than ever helping today’s professionals find life/work balance through creative organization systems and proven productivity strategies.

As she celebrates ten years of helping workers find life/work balance, Kronick notes the trend for productivity training and coaching has increased as companies see the negative consequences of work lives spinning out of control. “The financial costs for companies —lost work time due to disorganization, mistakes from lack of focus and disengaged employees and the personal costs— compromised health and happiness as well as strained family relationships due to stress and long hours at work, are real and a growing concern in today’s business culture.“

Kronick teaches organizational systems and productivity strategies helping people cut down on distractions, interruptions and improve focus. “Very few of today’s professionals were ever ‘taught’ how to manage paper and digital information so they often wind up with no systems or inefficient ones at best.”

Kronick started her career as a teacher, working for the Oregon Commission for the Blind. She and her husband taught life-skills to students and incorporated their love for teaching and the outdoors by taking students camping, skiing and backpacking. When her husband was killed in a tragic accident in 1993, it inspired Kronick to evaluate her own life and the how she used her time. “Knowing that our time is precious, it made me think there was a need to help people understand the necessity of making good decisions about how we spend our time.”

She started SIMPLIFY! in 2002 to empower people to learn new habits and behaviors so their lives reflect what’s truly important to them. Bethanne’s clients make positive, long-term changes, whether it’s managing stacks of paper, overflowing email boxes, busy schedules, cluttered space or facing life’s greater challenges.

One of Kronick’s favorite aspects of her trainings and coaching are the follow-up sessions where she hears of dramatic changes in focus issues and increased productivity. “People regain control of their space and time.  Their work spaces are less cluttered, email inboxes are cleared, lunch breaks are taken away from their desks, all of which provide clarity and allow people to work more effectively. The results can often be seen immediately. It is quite dramatic.”

Kronick serves clients all over the Northwest including Portland General Electric, SAIF Corporation, JELD – WEN, Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU), Port of Portland, Oregon Society of CPAs, Bonneville Power Administration, Acumed and High Desert ESD.
