Central Oregon Community College’s Manufacturing and Applied Technology Center on the Redmond Campus will host an open house for the community Wednesday, May 18, 3-7pm. The center is located near the Redmond Airport at 2030 SE College Loop.  COCC’s MATC is a multi-industry training facility where students can learn technical skills at their own pace and on their own schedule with the help of the skilled and experienced staff. It specializes in short-term customized training and skill development for individuals and businesses.

From 3pm, the MATC is encouraging interested high school as well as current and prospective COCC students to visit the facility. College personnel will be available to discuss admissions to MATC programs. From 5-7pm, business and civic organizations are invited to see the facility and learn how it impacts the local economy.

The open house will include remarks by COCC President James Middleton, self-guided tour of the facility, student and staff demonstrations of manufacturing equipment in action, including the new state-of-the-art Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining center and information on the MATC’s programs and how they benefit the Central Oregon economy.
