Donner Flower Shop, locally owned and operated, celebrates its 100th anniversary by moving back to Bend’s Westside at 605 Newport Avenue. The new shop location opened on April 1.
Donner Flower Shop opened its doors in Bend in 1911 as Riverside Florist, located at 456 NW Newport Ave. As it celebrates one hundred years, they are moving “back to their roots” to the neighborhood where it all began.
Always owned by creative, business-savvy women, today Donner Flower Shop is owned and managed by Doris Dilday who started working at the shop in 1990 and took ownership in 1999. Donner Flower Shop is known as a landmark and prominent business in Bend that is dedicated to the community; serving and contributing countless time, funds, and talent to special events, schools, fundraisers and community efforts over the past 100 years.
The new face of Donner Flower Shop on Newport Avenue will host a grand opening event later in the spring. The new location will be home to an extravagant display of flowers with its larger space and design attributes, allowing customers to come explore their options of unique, one-of-a-kind arrangement ideas.
“We can’t be more excited to celebrate our 100th year in business and make our move back to Newport Avenue,” said Dilday. “We are proud to help our customers express their emotions in a beautiful, sometimes extraordinary way.”
