Central Oregon Writers Guild Presents Literary Harvest Writing Contest

Submissions are now being accepted for the Central Oregon Writers Guild’s annual Literary Harvest Writing Contest. The contest is open to Guild members and Central Oregon writers who reside in Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook counties. Genres include fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, humor, poetry and excerpts from stand-alone book chapters. Entry fee is $10 for members, $15 for non-members.

Deadline for entries is September 6, 2011 and they are not accepted online. A panel of local judges will select ten winners, who will read their entries at the Literary Harvest on Friday, October 14, 2011.

Central Oregon Writers Guild’s goal is to advance growth and success for area writers through meetings, workshops and events such as the Literary Harvest writing contest. The Guild meets on the fourth Thursday of each month, except for November and December. Authors and other writing professionals speak at each meeting on topics of interest to writers at all skill levels.
