Seventh Annual Holiday Magic Concerts Return Benefiting Abilitree

0

The popular Holiday Magic Concerts return on December 9 and 11 this year at Summit High School, presented by the Cascade Chorale of COCC under the direction of James W. Knox. For the sixth year in a row SELCO Community Credit Union is the presenting sponsor. Other sponsors to date include Tennant Developments, Horizon Broadcasting Lite 95.1, The Bend Chamber of Commerce and Cascade Publications.

The Friday evening and Sunday matinee concerts will feature an incredible and powerful music selection and arrangements that include everything from traditional, gospel, pop and classical. Sample selections will include Oh Holy Night by Rene Clausen; Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Ralph Vaughan Williams and written for solo, choir and full orchestra; Twelve Days of Christmas by Howard Cable featuring members from The Proteus Chamber Players; African Noel by Andre Thomas, a crowd favorite and highly energized African song; Joy to All the World, including traditional songs from many countries such as Austria, France and Italy and ending with a powerful rendition of Joy to the World.

The COCC Cascade Chorale, the full orchestra and all the special musicians volunteer weeks of their time to bring these great concerts to you and your family to support Abilitree. The previous six years of concerts have brought the audiences to their feet in applause at the close of each performance.

This wonderful event gives the community a chance to come together around the holidays and support Abilitree, an organization that celebrates all the great achievements people with disabilities experience in their lives each and every day when they are given the right opportunities and support to achieve their dreams.
