Oregon Entrepreneurs Network has extended the deadline for entrepreneurs to apply to Angel Oregon– now December 22nd

The Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) announced a call for applications for OEN’s Angel Oregon 2012 investment competition, to be held April 18 at the Governor Hotel, Portland. The event gives Oregon and southwest Washington’s brightest entrepreneurs the chance to contend for angel investment and other prizes such as market research packages provided by Market Decisions Corp., and valued at $7,500 each. This year OEN’s Angel Oregon 2012 is targeting a $325,000 raise, representing a significant increase over prior years. Launch Stage companies will vie for the grand investment award of approximately $200,000, with the potential for a second Launch Stage investment, depending on the total funds raised.

Concept Stage companies will benefit from the return of OEN’s Upstart Day. All Concept Stage Semi-Finalist Companies will be able to participate in a complimentary day-long immersion with finance, sales, marketing, technical, distribution and strategy experts representing a variety of sectors, including consumer products, technology, and biotech. Many of these experts are also part of OEN’s Angel Oregon 2012 LLC investor group and are eager to get to know the entrepreneurs, and help them succeed.

Investors looking to immerse themselves in Oregon’s hot entrepreneurial community, diversify their portfolios, or expand their networks will want to participate in OEN’s Angel Oregon 2012. The Angel Oregon 2012, LLC will be comprised of new and veteran angel investors who collaborate with multiple objectives including:

  • Educating new angel investors and enhancing the skills of veterans
  • Growing a collaborative network of investors that endures beyond the conference
  • Identifying and investing in promising, early stage companies – tapping the collective expertise and contacts of the group
  • Building momentum for funding of early stage Northwest companies

“We are striving this year to increase investment and visibility for entrepreneurs by recruiting more investors and more investment,” said Shelley Gunton, OEN’s Angel Oregon 2012 Chair. “This is a chance to help entrepreneurs take a quantum leap in the lifecycle of their companies. Their success renders dividends for Oregon’s economy and work force. We want to help them launch from firm ground and have the resources to flourish.”
