The Oregon Association of Realtors has launched a new commercial division in order to more fully serve the commercial real estate community. The new division will have enhanced services specific to commercial realtors.

The overall goal is to further increase the professionalism, competency and integrity of commercial realtors. The new division will bring together commercial realtors throughout Oregon for educational opportunities, advocacy, professional standards and relationship development, all specifically to benefit the commercial realtor.

“We want to ensure our commercial members have all the resources they need to conduct their business,” said John Hoops, 2012 president of the association. “The powerful forces of technology and the economy have dramatically changed our industry during the last five years. By sharing services and technical systems we are taking advantage of this opportunity that will help our realtors as well as Oregon businesses and citizens.

“This new division will bring commercial practitioners together to provide education and specialized seminars,” said Jennifer Martin, senior advisor for Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisors, LLC. “It will also create tremendous opportunities for leaders in our field to grow throughout their careers.”

The Commercial Division will focus on those realtors and real estate affiliates specializing in commercial real estate throughout the state of Oregon. Realtors abide by the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), which sets them apart from other real estate professionals.

The Oregon Association of Realtors was established in 1932 to organize the real estate profession in Oregon. Today, the Association is a force for education and a business and legislative advocate for free enterprise and private property rights in Oregon.
