Local restaurants pitch in to help Latino Community Association thrive

The Latino Community Association (LCA) is running a special promotion to motivate local businesses to join as AMIGOS of LCA. Business and Non-Profit Memberships, including early renewals, received by April 30 will earn a chance to win one of twenty $30 gift certificates at Ranchero Mexican Grill or HOLA!

LCA’s Executive Director, Brad Porterfield, states “Our goal is to welcome 25 businesses and non-profits as our AMIGOS this month, so the odds are fantastic!” Businesses that join at the $100 level will win two certificates if your entry is drawn. Gift certificates are good for all food and non-alcoholic drinks. No other purchase required. Prize winners will be drawn on May 2, 2012.

Last April, in keeping with its mission and updated Strategic Plan, LCA launched its AMIGOS of LCA membership program. Its purpose is to connect to the community in new ways increasing cross-cultural interaction and awareness of LCA and our increasing diversity, to establish a steady stream of recurring revenue to sustain and grow its life-changing programs, and to develop new ways to serve as a resource for all of Central Oregon.

As of April 9, LCA has 207 Amigos members (70 percent clients) having far surpassed its initial goal of 100.

“Our final year-one push is to reach our goal of 35 business members and to host our first Amigos social event recognizing the support of our membership,” added Porterfield.

For the past 12 years, the Latino Community Association (LCA) has been strengthening immigrant families and children and building bridges across cultures to create a more resilient Central Oregon. In partnership with caring individuals, businesses, community organizations and public agencies, LCA remains committed to ensuring full participation of Latinos in the community. Programs of LCA include: Basic Assistance, Community Education, Volunteer Opportunities, Cultural Enrichment, and Youth Community Involvement. Our programs serve roughly 2,000 people every year.
