“I feel strongly that every child deserves happiness, health and security. Every child’s soul craves innocence and laughter. It is our duty as a community to protect our village and support our families in need. All net proceeds from our Exclusive Line created in collaboration with FAN will go directly to Family Access Network of Deschutes County. FAN is a non-profit organization that strives to keep shoes, clothing, glasses and other basic needs on our children that are less fortunate and even homeless. I believe in paying forward each day, starting locally in hopes of beginning to watch the world flourish.” Heather Nashelle Straw, Founder, Nashelle Designs

“10,200 children & family members served by FAN last school year, assisting the most needy in our community…10,200 reasons why I wholeheartedly support FAN.”  Kristi Miller, FAN Foundation Board Chair

“FAN helps connect local families to basic needs, basic needs many of us take for granted.  I support FAN because it gives these families the opportunity to have a second chance.”  Maura Bledsoe, FAN Foundation Board Member

FAN began in January 1993 and currently employs 26 advocates in 42 public schools (K-12) and three early childhood sites. FAN strives to improve lives by ensuring all children in Deschutes County have access to basic-need services. FAN is unique to Deschutes County, utilizing advocates to efficiently reach and connect disadvantaged children and families with basic needs. During the 2010-11 school year FAN connected over 10,000 children and their family members with food, shelter, health care and other critical services.
