It’s a Presidential election year. The stage is set. The 24-hour cable television stations, never-ending sea of talk radio shows and countless number of blogs & Twitter posts ALL seem to feed on negativity.

Whether it’s Obama vs. Romney or Telfer vs. Knopp, the question is raised… in a world where one derogatory, off-handed comment can fuel days or even weeks of finger-pointing and self-righteous debate by pundits and political operatives, can there be civility in politics?

  • What is the difference between incivility and good old-fashioned hardball politics?
  • Can one be civil and still take no prisoners?
  • How does the battle of civility erode the trust of the public in elected officials?
  • Does the excessive amount of campaign money spent today influence civility in politics?
  • Are true civic leaders electable in the world today?

Following the last two sold out forums, City Club once again sets the stage for another interesting, informative and more importantly relevant community conversation.
