The National Association of Home Builders granted COBA’s charter on May 22, 1972

“COBA will be having a 40th anniversary celebration party this summer on August 17 with details to be released in the coming days,” said Tim Knopp, executive vice president of COBA.

COBA was founded with 22 original members of the building industry. Some of those businesses such as Miller Lumber, Brooks Resources, Insulation by Davis, and many others are still supporting COBA today.

To celebrate COBA will be launching a new interactive website called Connection Depot Central Oregon. Connection Depot will help consumers and home owners find local experts  and resources on everything from home maintenance to building a new home or remodeling and existing home.

“It’s a very exciting time to be a member of COBA” said Dan Pahlisch, 2012 president, “the building industry has been through a lot over the years and it’s a testament to our organization that we have managed to thrive through the best and worst of times within the industry. Our membership truly sees value in working together to make sure we are well represented in the community and working with government to improve Central Oregon.”

COBA has hosted several signature events over the years. One of the biggest is the Tour of Homes which will be taking place again this year on July 20, 21 & 22 and July 27, 28, & 29.
