Public Meeting Planned on Transit Services

Cascades East Transit, Central Oregon’s regional public transportation system, and the City of Redmond are co-hosting a public meeting from 6:30-8:30pm on July 11 in Conference Room A at Redmond City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to work with community members to determine community transit priorities.

The meeting will provide information about transit services in the community, but is designed to emphasize dialogue and discussion with attendees to find out what they want from transit over the short and long-term, including the potential for fixed-route services. “Our goal – and the City’s goal – is to find out what different types of community members want from transit, and how they think it should be sustained over time,” says Scott Aycock, CET Transportation Planner. “The outcome of this meeting will have direct influence over short and long-term transit service in Redmond.”

Cascades East Transit currently offers local public bus service to all citizens within Redmond as well as a large area outside the city limits, plus Community Connector shuttles connecting Redmond to all Central Oregon cities.
