Local Solar Contractor Helping Farmers Harvest the Sun

0

Sunlight Solar, a Bend-based a solar design and installation company, announced the beginning of its new Solar for Farms initiative this week.

While the majority of solar systems in Oregon are small-scale residential, multiple incentives –state, federal, and local utility — exist to make solar viable for rural farms. With payback periods as low as 4 years, the return on a solar investment for farms is more attractive than ever. The installation of solar can save farms thousands of dollars each year.

Sunlight Solar will perform free consultations for interested Oregon farms. Proposals are custom-made, tailored to each individual farm’s specific goals, needs, budget, and available funding opportunities.

A member of the Central Oregon business community since 1997, Sunlight Solar has a successful history of installing small- and large-scale solar systems and has earned a strong reputation for customer satisfaction. Free Solar for Farms workshops will be held in February and March throughout Central Oregon to explain promising solar opportunities for local farmers. The first workshop will take place on February 20 at the Powell Butte Grange.
