MUSE Conference to Include Oprah’s Favorite Guest

Three day conference will bring internationally recognized speakers to Bend. MUSE Women’s Conference, featuring local women and teens along with internationally recognized women’s activists including Dr. Tererai Trent will be held March 1-3 at various locations in downtown Bend to celebrate International Women’s day and kick-off Women’s History Month.

The event will include a MUSE First Friday Art Walk. a full day of panel discussions, live performances and keynote speakers at the Tower Theatre, a reception and private dinner and various breakout workshops facilitated by local leaders, teachers and artists.

“We are incredibly honored to have Dr. Tererai Trent joining us this year,” said Amanda Stuermer, event founder. “We want to show women the enormous potential they hold for change and Dr. Trent’s story represents beautifully the power of transformation.”

Dr. Trent has been recognized as Oprah Winfrey’s “all-time favorite guest” and was featured in New York Times bestseller Half The Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity.

MUSE will also feature Jensine Larsen, the founder of World Pulse, a media and communication network devoted to bringing women a global voice and Naseem Rakha, an award-winning journalist and author of The Crying Tree. Shine Global, a local non-profit, is hosting the event as part of its mission to inspire women and girls worldwide to be catalysts for change.
