The Sunriver Brewing Company took top honors as the 2012 Business of the Year at the Sunriver Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting on March 21, 2013.

In presenting the award, Sunriver Chamber executive Dennis Smeage noted that Sunriver Brewing is more than a profit-making endeavor.  “Early on,” he said, “the brew house made a point of helping those in need in by supporting local causes.  Through event sponsorships and other monetary donations, memberships in community organizations, and volunteering their time and talent where needed, the Sunriver Brewing Company has woven itself into the very fabric of the Sunriver community.”

Most recently, Sunriver Brewing offered its management expertise and financial support to a local child care center that was facing closure.  Thanks to the brew house’s intervention, Smeage said the center’s operations have stabilized and it is looking towards a brighter future.

The brew house in The Village at Sunriver opened its doors on July 4, 2012, and immediately became popular among both visitors and area residents alike.  According to owners Marc, Karol and Brian Cameron, Sunriver Brewing’s mission is “outrageous service, great food and awesome craft beer.”  The owners’ attention to this mission has been evident both inside the restaurant and outside in the local community.

Sunriver Brewing prides itself on its family-friendly atmosphere, complete with a kids’ play area right inside the restaurant.  The menu caters to a wide variety of tastes, from familiar mac and cheese to steelhead sandwiches and Lava Butte burgers, all made from fresh, local ingredients that are cooked to perfection.  And then there are the beers.  The brew house features a nice selection of local craft beers as well as its own refreshing microbrews.  Judging from the thousands of customers who have graced the brew house’s doors in just 9 months of operation, the Camerons are well on their way to achieving their mission.
