med_Pamelas_Mug_copy55Last year, Cascade Business News, Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt Attorneys at Law and Sterling Savings Bank honored over 20 accomplished leaders at the age of 40 or under working in Central Oregon’s varied business communities.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2010 awards. Nominees may come from the education, social service, corporate and professional affiliations. You may nominate a person working in the Central Oregon region of Deschutes, Crook or Jefferson Counties. The person must be no more than 40 years of age and lived and worked in Central Oregon for at least one year. Include in your nomination the individual’s professional accomplishments, civic, industry and community involvement and specific characteristic that distinguishes them from their peers.

In today’s extremely competitive business environment, standing out among your peers takes dedication, vision, talent, drive and the ability to bring forth not only the best in yourself, but in others as well. These are the building blocks of leadership, and to be recognized with this award illustrates that you possess these qualities in abundance.

We see the importance of the impact that these young professionals have in the community – and their contribution to the economic future of the region. We think it is important for you to meet these business and community leaders who are building impressive careers while making a commitment to help their communities grow and prosper for future generations to enjoy.

Some common threads all of the previous winners expressed: build excellent staff, peer, community and clients relationships. Operate with respect and professionalism, be held accountable, be a responsible team leader.  Do the right thing, even when no one is looking. Give back to the community. Prepare wisely and act swiftly. Think big. Be compassionate. Have fun. Know anyone like that?
