Sunriver Resort Golf Season Opens with Full Tourney Schedule

After a mild winter and unseasonably warm spring in Central Oregon, Sunriver Resort will open each of its four courses in time for the Memorial Day Weekend. Course opening dates for 2013 began with the prestigious Crosswater course on April 12, followed by the Resort’s signature Meadows and private 9-hole, par 3 Caldera Links courses on April 20 and the north-end Sunriver Woodlands course on May 24.

 

Sunriver Resort’s first major tournament of the season is the 46th Annual PGA Professional National Championship June 23 – 26 at Crosswater and Meadows, the third nationally televised tournament in the last decade. Spectators are welcome to come watch the 312 PGA pros as they compete in four rounds of tournament play.

 

Other pivotal tournaments of the season include:

 

The Ghost Tree Invitational on August 23 hosts 50 teams with celebrities, guests and a special dinner created by local renowned chefs.

 

The AJGA, scheduled for August 26 – 29 where the best junior golfers in the world will play the Meadows and Woodlands courses for the annual American Junior Golf Association’s Sunriver Junior Open.

 

The Pacific Northwest Golf Association Team Championships for men and women will be played September 16 – 20 on the Meadows and Woodlands courses.

 

The 17th annual Pacific Amateur Golf Classic will be held September 21-26, 2013 on host courses throughout Central Oregon.
