Still Time for Public Testimony on Mirror Pond Solution for Bend

0

Four Visions/Options for Mirror Pond’s future have been prepared for public review. Bend Park and Recreation District will have displays of these options at several community events into July. A questionnaire has been created to capture the public’s input on the four Options. The questionnaire will close on July 12.

The Visions/Options are posted on www.mirrorpondbend.com.

The alternatives reflect five points taken from public input in February and the direction of the Mirror Pond Management Board. Based on this input the Options should:

  1. Be viable with or without the Pacific Power Dam.
  2. Include attractive views similar to the iconic view across Mirror Pond to the North Sister.
  3. Reflect citizen’s environmental, historic and economic values.
  4. Sustain and improve water quality and habitat.
  5. Improve upon recreation opportunities.
