DENT Instruments of Bend Launches Three New Products

The new instruments significantly enhances the capabilities of the previous generation product.

DENT Instruments, a designer and manufacturer of power and energy measurement instruments, announced the introduction of three new products: The ELITEpro XC, the PowerScout 24, and the PowerScout 3 Ethernet.

The ELITEpro XC, which succeeds the ELITEpro SP, is a portable power meter designed for measurement and verification projects or temporary loads studies. New the ELITEpro XC are four analog input channels which can be configured for voltage (0-10V) or current (0 or 4-20mA) input used in any combination. Analog inputs are especially helpful when used in conjunction with power measurements to correlate the consumption of electricity with environmental conditions. Another key upgrade is the memory capacity of the ELITEpro XC, which has been increased to 16 MB internal non-volatile memory—twice the capacity of the previous-generation product.

The PowerScout 24 is an all-new multi-channel power meter which replaces the PowerScout 18. The PowerScout 24 offers the lowest-cost per meter point versus comparable industrial multi-channel power meters. The modular design of the PowerScout 24 allows it to be configured for monitoring multiple electrical circuits or for current-only monitoring of branch circuits. There are virtually no restrictions in “mixing & matching” current transformers on the PowerScout 24 and any combination of CTs can be used.

The PowerScout 3 Plus is now available as an Ethernet device. PowerScout 3 Plus Ethernet communicates using Modbus TCP or BACnet IP over Ethernet instead of an RS-485 connection. Ethernet networks have several advantages over RS-485 networks including faster meter response times, improved remote access, and the ability to support more PowerScout devices on a single network. Additionally, the ability to use existing Ethernet infrastructure means that there is no need to install a separate network.

Christopher Dent, President of DENT Instruments said, “We are very excited about the introduction of three new instruments to our product line. Each one significantly enhances the capabilities of the previous generation product and we are certain that clients will find the new features very useful.”

DENT Instruments is a supplier of an array of precision measurement instrumentation and analytical software in the field of energy management.
