Central Oregon Council on Aging and Bend Memorial Clinic Partner to Host Free Powerful Tools for Caregivers Series

Two sessions of the Powerful Tools for Caregivers will be offered in Bend through a partnership between Bend Memorial Clinic (BMC) and Central Oregon Council On Aging (COCOA).

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend.  Family caregivers will benefit from this class whether they are helping a parent, spouse, friend or someone who lives at home, in a nursing home, or across the country.

The summer session of Powerful Tools for Caregivers will be held at BMC each Thursday, August 8-September 12, 2013 from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. This class meets once a week for six weeks.

The fall session of Powerful Tools for Caregivers will be held at the Bend Senior Center each Thursday, September 26-November 7 from 1:30–3pm. This class meets once a week for six weeks.

Registration is required.  For information or to register, please call Lesley Srikantaiah at Central Oregon Council On Aging at 541.678.5483. There is no charge for the Powerful Tools for Caregivers class. An optional textbook is available for $25.
