pacJefferson County School District 509-J will host a community groundbreaking celebration for the new Madras High School Performing Arts Center and Athletic Facilities this Thursday, August 22 at 10am on the Madras High School football field at 390 SE 10th St. All community members are welcome to join in the celebration.

“We want to thank our families and neighbors for their support in making this possible,” said JCSD Superintendent Rick Molitor. “These new facilities will serve our entire community and we hope to see everyone here to help us celebrate.”
The new facilities are part of a District-wide construction plan funded by the $26.7 million school bond passed by voters in May, 2012. Other projects also underway include construction of a new K-8 school in Warm Springs and upgrades and improvements to buildings District-wide.

JCSD has selected the Wenaha Group to lead the planning, design and construction of the new facilities.  Wenaha Group’s Rob Quaempts and Dave Fishel are construction professionals with more than 44 years of combined experience. They provide construction management and consulting services to organization, corporations and Tribes throughout the region.
