Bend’s newest chiropractic clinic set to open in early September in Brookswood Meadow Plaza. Dr. Andrew Torchio and Dr. Ashley Campbell, owners of 2ChirosMission Chiropractic Center, are excited to bring their knowledge and experience to the community. The doctors are both graduates of the fountainhead of chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic.

“The time is here, the time is now. We must adopt a new paradigm toward health in order to stay well,” states Dr. Torchio of 2ChiroMission Chiropractic Center (2CM), Prior to starting their practice in Bend, the couple founded the charity 2ChirosMission and spent seven months traveling throughout Asia on a mission to educate the masses about the healing powers of chiropractic. Together they were able to treat thousands in underserved areas and introduce communities to a new form of healing that is virtually unknown throughout much of the world.

While in Central India, they set up a fully functioning clinic that quickly grew to over 100 patients per day. They also worked closely with several of Maharashtra’s most renowned homeopathic physicians to help expand their knowledge and hone their technique and skills. On weekends, they developed outreach clinics at orphanages and ashrams. In addition, the doctors have traveled to Brazil, Nepal, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand on chiropractic missions.

The philosophy of chiropractic is based on 33 principles, which make this healing profession distinctly different from westernized medicine. The doctors at 2CM Chiropractic Clinic believe in and preach a vitalistic and holistic approach to health, supporting that the body is a self sustaining organism designed to be well. The doctors note, “There is nothing inside of us that is designed to be unwell or diseased. However, when the body becomes stressed due to thoughts, traumas, and toxins, it can fall out of balance and enter into a diseased state.”

The phrase, for lack of balance in the spine, is subluxation. Subluxations in the spine are caused by misaligned vertebra that irritate the body’s nervous system, wreaking havoc in the body if left unchecked. By removing subluxations, proper nerve flow and communications are restored and the body is able to resume its innate intelligence to heal and be well.

“The key to health is to look at the body as a whole instead of as parts. As chiropractors, we strive to treat the cause and not the effect. This means studying the central nervous system to remove interference and initiate the body’s healing from the source. The problem in our society is that we are not taught to maintain our spine and central nervous system. We know to see the dentist on a regular basis to keep our teeth healthy, but we are not taught to keep our spines healthy. Surely a healthy spine is as or more important than a healthy smile,” stated Dr. Torchio.

According to Dr. Campbell, there are several things that separate this clinic from others in the area. “First of all, we are dedicated to educating our community. As health care professionals, we have an obligation to enlighten and educate. Second, we hold our patients accountable. As doctors, we feel responsibility to give 100 percent to each and every patient and in return we expect the patient to take responsibility for their own health. This means that both doctor and patient must be fully engaged in the process in order to experience the full benefit of our work.”

In order to achieve their mission and goals, the doctors will be hosting several community lectures in the coming months as well as showing health documentaries and health workshops in the Brookswood Meadow Plaza. Workshops will be held every Tuesday at 6pm at the 2CM Chiropractic Center and are open to the public on the second Tuesday of each month.

The doctors are very excited to be in Bend and bring their expertise to a new area. The 2CM doctors specialize in upper cervical techniques, corrective full spine care and pediatric/obstetric chiropractic care. They are on a mission to educate and enlighten the community on the importance of spinal care and the removal of nervous system interference. Spinal hygiene and chiropractic care is critical in order to achieve optimal health and well-being.

The new clinic is now accepting patients and invite the community to visit their website at www.2chirosmission.com or their Facebook page at 2ChirosMission Chiropractic Center for information on upcoming talks, workshops, movie nights and appointment scheduling. 19550 Amber Meadow Dr. Ste#110.
