In partnership with Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe and the Bend Paddle Trail Alliance, the ACA has planned a full schedule of events for the 2013 NPC, including a silent auction to benefit stewardship programs, educational sessions, a river clean up, and guided rafting and kayaking trips down the Deschutes River.

The Reel Paddling Film Festival will take place on Thursday evening, benefiting the Bend Paddle Trail Alliance (BPTA) and the ACA’s stewardship initiatives. The ACA will present BPTA with an award on Friday evening at the Pickin’ & Paddlin’ Event at Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe. On Saturday, the annual ACA Awards Ceremony & Banquet will feature keynote speaker and Executive Director of the ACA, Wade Blackwood.

All guests at the NPC will be welcome to attend courses or sessions at the Whitewater Symposium, simultaneously taking place at the Mt. Bachelor Village Resort throughout the weekend.

Founded in 1880, The American Canoe Association (ACA) is a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving the broader paddling public by providing education related to all aspects of paddling; stewardship support to help protect paddling environments; and sanctioning of programs and events to promote paddlesport competition and recreation. The ACA has over 20,000 members, and 300 paddling clubs and affiliated organizations.  The ACA sponsors over 1,400 events each year, including 200 races.  The ACA education program has an estimated outreach of 800,000 people a year. www.americancanoe.org
