Deschutes County Historical Society Fall Symposium, Seasons of Fire and Smoke

The event will explore the history of fire the State of Oregon and in Central Oregon, and how that history impacts our relationship with fire now and in the future, with presentations from historians, scientists and wild land fire managers.

 
Saturday, November 16 from 10am to 5pm at Aspen Hall, the Deschutes County Historical Society in partnership with the Deschutes National Forest presents its fall symposium “Seasons of Fire and Smoke: Past, Present, and Future of Fire in Central Oregon.” 

Explore the history of fire the State of Oregon and in Central Oregon, and how that history impacts our relationship with fire now and in the future, with presentations from historians, scientists, and wild land fire managers. Symposium speakers include keynote by William G. Robbins, Professor Emeritus, Oregon State University, with an overview of Oregon’s history with fire.

Cost is $20 and includes lunch from Tate and Tate catering.
