What’s Brewing Hosts BLRB Architects: What Should the New Elementary School Look Like?

0

For the first time in nearly 70 years, Crook County will build a new elementary school and you can help influence how it will look. Learn about the basic design concept January 15, 7am at Meadow Lakes Restaurant.

School designs have changed greatly since Crooked River and Ochoco schools were built. Everything from classrooms to cafeterias and playgrounds look different due to research in teaching methods, technology, school safety, and transportation.

For the past several months, a school district design committee has been working with BLRB Architects to determine a basic layout for the new school that will be built in the Ironhorse development and serve 700 elementary students.  Although the basic design is determined, the process is active and ongoing. The school district believes the more people who review the plan and provide ideas and perspectives, the better the school will be.

Mike Gorman from BLRB Architects and design committee members Patti Norris and Gwen Carr, are looking for input from the community at this week’s What’s Brewing?  Come and learn about the basic design concept and share your thoughts and suggestions.
