“We’re fighting to expand access to opportunity for all Oregonians,” House Majority Leader Val Hoyle (D – Eugene) said. “House Democrats will use this short session to deliver better results for our students, put Oregonians back to work, and make government more efficient, effective and transparent.”

Senate Majority Leader Diane Rosenbaum (D – Portland) and Rep. Hoyle released the Senate Democrats’ 2014 Agenda and the House Democrats’ 2014 Action Plan this morning at a press conference at the State Capitol.

They were joined by Salem small business owner Jose Gonzalez and Portland State University student Rayleen McMillan, who each spoke to the importance of passing the components of the agendas.

The House Democrats’ Action Plan focuses on three key areas: prioritizing access to high-quality education; creating jobs and encouraging innovation; and making government work better for Oregonians.

“We made great progress last session, but now is the time to build on our successes and continue to expand opportunities for Oregonians to have more prosperous futures in the years ahead,” said Rep. Joe Gallegos (D – Hillsboro).
