United Way of Deschutes County (UWDC) will again offer free tax preparation clinics from February 1 to April 15 throughout Central Oregon through their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA).
Certified volunteers will help those who need assistance to electronically file both Federal and State tax returns for FREE and, if eligible, claim tax refunds which benefit local families and the economy.
In addition to tax preparation sites, UWDC will also offer Facilitated Self Assistance Sites (FSA) where taxpayers are able to prepare their own taxes with IRS-approved software and with assistance, if needed, from VITA volunteers. FSA sites are walk-in only unless otherwise noted.
