City of Bend to Hold Meeting on Special Event Permits

0

Special events are vital to our community. From the Cascade Cycling Classic to the 4th of July Parade, events draw residents and tourists to Bend for entertainment and celebration. The City recognizes the importance of providing safe and accessible venues for all events.

The City considers any gathering of more than 150 people on City property or on a City street a special event.  Events like parades, downtown festivals and large sporting events are all special events and require a permit from the City.

The City is hosting a public meeting to discuss the 2014 Special Event Review process at 4pm on Tuesday, March 4 in the City Council Chambers at Bend City Hall, 710 NW Wall Street Bend. They will explain what is required to submit a complete application, timelines required for processing event permits and enforcement procedures.

All businesses and individuals who expect to submit an application for a special event in 2014 are encouraged to attend.

If you cannot attend and expect to submit an application for a Special Event Permit in 2014, contact Carolyn Eagan, Business Advocate at 541-388-5529 or ceagan@bendoregon.gov.
