Central Oregon Regional Council Bootcamp

In today’s complex community environment, there are many difficult issues that homeowner associations face. Central Oregon Regional Council (CORC) of Community Associations Institute’s Oregon Chapter presents a special half-day seminar on April 5 at The Oxford Hotel in downtown Bend that provides specific resources and knowledge to homeowner and condominium boards of directors. Experts will go over the ins and outs of the board’s duties and dealing with community operations.

This year’s topics include:

• How the Federal Fair Housing Act Impacts Your HOA Rules (marijuana, pets/service animals, parking, pools),

• The Great Reserve Debate (what does “fully funded” reserves really mean,) and

• Running Your Board Meetings According to the Law (parliamentary procedure, Roberts Rules of Order, notice requirements and executive sessions).

This incredibly interactive program is a highly recommended educational experience for board members and directors, as well as a great refresher course for experienced homeowner association managers and leaders.

Registration fees are $25 for CAI members and $40 for non-members.

The seminar runs from 8am-noon and includes breakfast. www.caioregon.org to register.
