A groundbreaking celebration will be held at 3pm, Wednesday April 9 at the future site of St. Charles Prineville – 200 SE Combs Flat Rd. Members of the public are invited to attend to learn more about plans for the $30 million facility and to celebrate this important milestone in the project.

“With this event, we are honoring the legacy of health care in Prineville and celebrating the years of effort, community outreach and planning that have prepared us to break ground on this innovative new health care campus,” said Jeanie Gentry, CEO of Pioneer Memorial Hospital and St. Charles Madras.

“We hope that all those interested in learning more will join us as we scoop the first shovels full of dirt and officially launch into the active construction phase of the project.”

The new health care campus in Prineville will include a primary care and specialty physician clinic along with hospital services including inpatient beds, an emergency department, surgery suites, a laboratory, imaging services and much more. Research conducted by St. Charles, Stroudwater Associates and The Neenan Company led to the design that is intended to improve access to care for patients while enhancing their care experience and providing better value for their health care dollars.

“We are building this facility for the Prineville community and are doing so with great respect for the legacy of health care in the region,” said Dan Schuette, a St. Charles Health System board member and Prineville citizen. “The building design includes a community space that can be used for art shows, performances, meetings and much more. It is our sincere hope that this facility not only provides health care services to our community, but also serves as an inspiration to improve wellness throughout the region.”
