This coming year will be a one of optimism, assessments, stretches and reinvention for Central Oregon businesses. Cascade Business News believes there are some positive marks on our economic climate including a savory tourism business, the volume of residential building, increase in home values, the renowned brewery industry, a growing aviation-related cluster of companies and  local high tech and biotech companies creating innovative products and increasing staff and facilities to accommodate their growth.

Along with our high quality lifestyle and savvy local business owners, we’re optimistic that the high desert will blossom once again.

Kicking off a new year is a great time to work on boosting your market share and CBN offers the 2014 Book of Lists to assist you in this effort. The Book of Lists is currently being distributed throughout the region as an effective and valuable marketing tool. You’ll find a comprehensive listing of Central Oregon’s growing local industries.

Our daily compilation of these lists is one of the most demanding chores we undertake, but we think our efforts are definitely worthwhile. Each list has already appeared during the course of the year in Cascade Business News. Each list is updated at least once on an annual basis. In addition each list is updated online immediately when we receive changes and additions from the business community.

In order to keep pace of growth related industries we have created two new valuable lists: craft brewers and suppliers and aviation-related companies.

Our website, www.cbnbookoflists.com, offers the entire Book of Lists online, which is updated daily. It’s proved to be a valuable resource for our subscribers. In 2014 we will continue to enhance the online version of the Book making it easier to use with more marketing options.

We offer the online Book of Lists version as the best business to business marketing resource in the region. For an annual subscription of just $200 companies can use the web-based program that is accessible and downloadable as mailing lists, targeted industries and direct contact. The $200 includes a $35 annual subscription to the printed version of CBN, online access to the data at your finger tips, access to free pdfs of all CBN issues and a hard copy of the Book of Lists.

CBN CELEBRATES 20 YEARS

In recognition of Cascade Business News twenty years in business, over the course of the next twelve months we will be featuring various business owners and community leaders and their thoughts on our twenty years. We are absolutely honored to receive these testimonials, which you will find scattered throughout the newspaper on a regular basis.

Pamela Hulse Andrews founded Cascade Business News in 1994 with a small business loan from the Bank of the Cascades, an astute and business-wise advisory board and a small staff of incredible talent and dedication.

Over the years the publication has not changed its focus: enhancing and promoting the economic vitality of Central Oregon. What it has changed is the way it delivers the news. Not resting on the value of the printed word, it has kept pace with technology providing a comprehensive website for business articles and advice and a twice monthly eHeadline news delivered on a timely basis to over seven thousand subscribers for free.

Thank you Central Oregon for walking this path with us and for supporting our efforts during challenging economic times. Please let us know how we can serve you over the next twenty years. Jeff Martin, President, Cascade Publications Inc.
