A goal of $1.25 million has been set for the 2012/13 Living United Campaign.  Fulfilling the organizational mission to, “Bring people together to improve lives and strengthen our community,” United Way of Deschutes County partners with 26 agencies in the county, helping fund social service programs that work to directly impact four important focus areas:  helping kids get a great start in life, keeping youth on track for success, meeting basic needs of individuals and families, and keeping children and families safe from violence and abuse.

People sometimes ask what exactly does United Way of Deschutes County do?  The simplest way to answer is that they help people.  To learn what United Way is in a nutshell, visit the organizations website at www.liveunitedco.org, and click on the video icon for “United Way in a Nutshell”.

Donors can be confident that when donating to United Way of Deschutes County, more of their investment goes directly to local programs and services, thanks to many generous volunteers and Cornerstone partners.  Cornerstone partners direct their annual gift to cover United Way administrative expenses, meaning more of every donation can go directly to where it is needed most – to programs and services for area residents who need a helping hand.

United Way of Deschutes County works to bring our community together to understand needs, secure resources and strategically invest those resources to improve the lives of all people in the county.  Working together, we can inspire more change and progress than we can alone.
