Go Solar for a Good Cause

Sunlight Solar announces partnership with Habitat for Humanity.

In case you needed a better reason to go solar than doing something good for the environment or saving money, this holiday season, you can go solar for a good cause. In November and December, going solar can help support Bend Area Habitat for Humanity. Sunlight Solar will be donating 1 percent of all sales through their new “Solar for Good” program to Habitat during this time.

The Bend Area Habitat for Humanity has just completed its 100th home in Central Oregon. They have been serving our community for 23 years by helping families build and purchase their own affordable, healthy, and energy efficient homes.

Paul Israel, president of Sunlight Solar said, “Choosing to partner with Habitat was a natural choice. We’ve been working with them to install solar on their homes for years now and are thrilled to be able to continue bringing energy savings to deserving families.”

By going solar, you can do good for the environment, your wallet, and your community. And it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

Habitat for Humanity and Sunlight Solar will be hosting a series of free information sessions for homeowners to learn about how solar works, whether or not their home is a good fit, the incentives available, and how much it will actually cost them.

“It’s all about education,” said Lindsey Hardy of Sunlight Solar. “Most people don’t realize that the solar market has changed so much in the last few years. Once our potential customers do the math, they usually ask us why everyone isn’t doing it.”
