House Republican Leader Mike McLane (R-Powell Butte) yesterday selected Rep. Jason Conger (R-Bend) as assistant republican leader. In his new role, Rep. Conger will help leadership advance the caucus’ legislative priorities and agenda.

“Rep. Jason Conger is an effective legislator and has quickly emerged as a leader within our caucus,” Rep. McLane said.  “I’ve asked him to join our leadership team because he’s already playing an important role on several major issues this session.”

Rep. Conger, serving his second term in the Oregon House, is a member of House committees on Health Care, Revenue and Tax Credits. He is also working with legislative colleagues to develop and pass major PERS reforms to increase education funding and preserve essential services.

Locally Conger is an attorney in Bend with Miller Nash LLP.

“I’m pleased to accept a role in House Republican leadership, and I look forward to working with Rep. McLane and our caucus to make this session successful for Oregon,” Rep. Conger said. “Through my leadership position, I hope to give Bend and Central Oregon an even greater voice on the issues facing our region.”
