City of Bend and Park District Begin Next Phase of Mirror Pond Visioning Project

0

The Mirror Pond Visioning Project continues to move forward with the formation of an internal working group of city and park district leadership including staff, City Council and BPRD Board representatives.

This group met this week to clarify questions still needing to be resolved and identify steps to address them. “The community’s input in the first two phases of the Visioning Project made it clear that Bend residents value picturesque views and natural habitat” stated Don Horton, BPRD executive director.

To move forward with the alternatives analysis however, questions including the future of the dam and land ownership under the pond need to be resolved. The group may invite people with relevant expertise to join them as needed. The group intends to report their findings to Council and the BPRD Board for further direction later this fall.
