Hot summer temperatures are brutal for the homeless trying to survive outdoors. The Shepherd’s House, a nonprofit that serves the homeless is seeking donations of bottled water, Gatorade, sunscreen, and light clothing such as t-shirts and shorts.

“Many people think of the homeless during the cold weather, and we are thankful for that, but we do want to remind people that high heat can be equally difficult for people who are homeless. We want to help them out with water, sunscreen and lighter clothing, but we need donations of these items to meet that need,” said Curt Floski, Director at The Shepherd’s House.

Donations can be dropped off at The Shepherd’s House at 1854 NE Division Street, Bend. For more information call 541-388-2096.
