April is Child Abuse Prevention Month & Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Sexual Assault Awareness Month: In honor of sexual assault survivors, Saving Grace is teaming up with the Old Mill District to host Take Back the Night event on Friday, April 25 at 5:30pm at the Old Mill District foot bridge (between the Gap and Anthony’s). This is a fun, family friendly event and they ask that you gather some friends to come show your support.

They ask that you bring one or more donation items for Saving Grace sexual assault services and children support group services (new toothbrushes, children books, sweat pants/tops, snacks). There will be a Take Back the Night Challenge with a chance to win a $100 gift certificate. 

Child Abuse Prevention Month and the Blue Ribbon Campaign: During the month of April, KIDS Center offers increased trainings including their Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children, Internet Safety and Let’s Talk About It, all classes are available in Bend, Prineville and Madras throughout the month. KIDS Center is hosting a tour of their facilities on Friday April 18, 12-1pm. 

On Tuesday, April 29 they are teaming up with Bendbroadband to bring an award winning program to Central Oregon, Public and Permanent: Prevent Sexting, Cyber Bullying and Beyond! and attendees will receive a greater awareness of negative, irresponsible and malicious digital behaviors and learn how to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of a cyber-crime, cyber bullying and digital exploration.

This is held at the Bend High School from 6-8pm.
