Saturday, February 9 is a very busy and exciting day at Bend Pet Express. This is the opportunity to meet and converse with some amazing animal caregivers about your animal’s specific needs and care. Also meet animals that need homes, learn their stories and see if they would make the perfect addition to the family.

From 11am-1pm at the Eastside store, Dr. Amanda Kremer will present an Animal Chiropractic Seminar. Learn more about animal chiropractic work and the incredible benefits it has on your animal on their overall health and well-being. Animal Chiropractic involves gentle mobilization of the spinal joints and extremities to restore proper biomechanics and nervous system function in your pet.

Whether your pet is athletic or geriatric, chiropractic care may help to reduce pain and promote optimal function of the musculoskeletal system. Kramer works on all vertebrates, however, dogs, cats, horses, alpacas pigs and cattle are the most common. It is important to have your pet examined by a certified Animal Chiropractor regularly, even when there is nothing obviously wrong. Much like chiropractic care for humans, your pets can benefit from chiropractic adjustments to keep them healthy and well throughout their life. Pet owners in Bend, often report seeing increased energy, reduced pain or wagging tails after just a few appointments.

Also at the Eastside store from 11am-2pm, you can meet a retired greyhound. These dogs, in spite of their early training for the race track, love people and tend to be quite sociable. They have been handled a great deal during their early years by dog walkers, trainers, veterinarians and others. Many trainers are women who bring their children to work, so the dogs frequently have been exposed to children of all ages. They make an amazing addition to the family unit.

From 11am to 2pm, Dr. Deb will have her mobile clinic available for dental health screenings. The fee is $10 for the screening which can be applied to the cost of a procedure with All pets Smiling. Our furry companions usually don’t complain about experiencing dental pain. They follow our instinct to survive by just carrying on, hiding their pain and continuing to eat. You can take the first step to oral health by examining your pet’s mouth. Do you see red or bleeding gums? Does the pet’s breathe small badly? Do you notice any discolored or broken teeth? Does the mouth or do the teeth seem painful to the animal? Here is your chance to answer some of those questions and assure your furry companion is living a healthy life.
